(Addis Ababa, 28 October 2025). Marking another important step in the 50 years of partnership, the European Union and Ethiopia have signed Financing Agreement for the European Union 2025 Annual Action Plan. 

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Sofie From-Emmesberger, EU Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E.Semereta Sewasew, State Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, Ambassadors of EU Member States, and other Ethiopian officials.

Representing a "Team Europe" approach, the agreement aims to consolidate resources, expertise, and commitments from EU Member States and financial institutions, the EU will provide significant financial and technical support by channelling EUR 90 million (approximately 15.2 billion ETB) into strategic areas aligned with Ethiopia's priorities, the Home-Grown Economic Reform Agenda, and the EU's Global Gateway Strategy.
