STEPHAN LIEBING

Chairman

Stefan Liebing is the owner and Director of Conjuncta GmbH. He has professional experience in the energy sector and in the development of large-scale international projects for many years. Before the establishment of Conjuncta, Stefan Liebing held various management roles for companies of the oil and gas as well as the electricity sector in Germany and the Netherlands. During this period he negotiated projects in Russia and Central Asia as well as in countries of the Middle East and Africa successfully.

 

Christoph KANNENGIESSER

CEO

Christoph Kannengiesser is the CEO of Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirstchaft e.V. (German-African Business Association) since 2012. He holds a Master's Degree in Law from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universitat in Bonn, and has built a careen in major German business associations.

Christoph held leading positions at the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and at the Confederation of German Employers'Associations (BDA). He also served as CEO at the German Brands Association (Markenverband). From 2004 to 2007 he served as Deputy Secretaty General of the Konrad-Adenauder-Foundation, a leading political think tank with a broad international network i.a on the African continent.

David LAMB

Chairman

David is Principal at The Cheverell Partnership which offers guidance and project assessment to businesses focussed on Southern Africa, in particular Zimbabwe. He has investments in several private companies and is a name at Lloyds. After reading law at Edinburgh University he qualified as an accountant in 1965 and worked in banking in the Bahamas and trading and manufacturing in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Karen Taylor has had more than twenty years experience in the trade exhibitions industry with a reputation for successfully managing both private and public companies. Well versed in senior management of the venue and organising sectors of the events and exhibitions industry.

Alex Lambeth

Chief Operating Officer

Alex Lambeth joined Business Council for Africa in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer. From 2012 to 2015 Alex was a Director at British Expertise International, where he led the organisation’s activities on Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia. Alex has particular interests in sustainable development and infrastructure.

Michel VAN DER VOORT

Michel Van der Voort has been a director of the Belgium-Luxemburg CBL-ACP for over 20 years and its chairman from 2008 to 2011. 
After his degree in economics in Antwerp (ISCEA) and one year of Business Administration at the U. of Delaware USA, he served as an intern for the belgian foreign trade office at the embassy in Malaysia.
He built a career in the shipping and forwarding sector working for Africa oriented logistics companies such as AMI, Polytra, Transami Air Cargo and held leading functions in Mozambique (where he also served as honorary consul for Belgium), Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, the RDC, the Ivory Coast and eventually Antwerp, Belgium.
Michel is a member of the Royal Africa and Overseas Society (CRAOM) in Brussels.

Marie GAD

 Marie Gad is Chief Policy Advisor at the Confederation of Danish Industry. She is in charge of development policy and international financing as well as export promotion policy. Marie is Chair of BUSINESSEUROPE's Development Policy Working Group, and Chair of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC) Group on Africa.

Prior to her position at DI, Ms. Gad worked in the export department of three different companies, focusing on project exports and business development with a geographical focus on emerging markets and developing countries.

Eivind FJELDSTAD

Prior to establishing NABA, Mr. Fjeldstad worked for 15 months as an ILPI advisor on Pemba/Zanzibar, Tanzania, observing the political development on the isles. He spent six months interning at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa, mainly working with the embassy’s election portfolio. Mr. Fjeldstad has also carried out different voluntary work: he was Head of Finance for ISFiT 2005 (the International Student Festival in Trondheim), thus responsible for the festival’s fundraising and CSR activities. He headed the ISFiT Dialogue Groups 2007, and has also worked as a project coordinator for Dialogue Africa’s Horn of Africa initiative.

 

 

Daniela WOLDEMICHAEL

 Ms. Woldemichael has worked as an International Project Coordinator for GBR within the oil and gas sector in Africa and the mining sector in Asia. In the UK she worked as a media analyst for the Scandinavian market at Gorkana Group. Today Daniella is working as an independent consultantant for Wolde-Michael Consulting.

Irene VISSER

Managing Director

Irene has a background in Investment Promotion, Consulting and Program Management across sectors and countries in Africa. She previously served as a Manager with KPMG Consulting in Mozambique and Southern Africa and as a Sector Manager and Operations Officer in the World Bank Group’s Investment Climate Team for Africa. She holds an MSc in Industrial Design Engineering (sustainable development and innovation focus) from Delft University (NL) and a diploma in Business Administration from Warwick University (UK).

Marina DIBOMA

Head of External Affairs & International Cooperation

As Head of External Affairs and International Cooperation, Marina is passionate about building bridges between people and organizations. She has eight years of international experience in trade and investment promotion between the Netherlands and African countries, specializing in private sector and business development. By utilizing her strong diplomacy, and negotiations skills with her understanding of the Dutch and “African” cultures, she has opened doors to several African countries for the Dutch private sector, and vice versa.

 Peter Hartmann is a retired shipping manager who was Managing Director of a liner agency in Switzerland, mainly representing shipping compagnies (British, German, French, Amercain and South African) who were serving the African continent. Thus having many personal contacts in most Sub-Saharan countries. Since 2001 he has joined Swisscham-Africa as vice president. Swisscham-Africa is a private non-governmental organisation with approx.100 members, mainly small and medium enterprises who are doing or seeking business contacts in Africa. Swisscham-Africa are supporting Swiss Industries with legal and practical advice for their intentions to build up business relations with African partners.
