Description

The EU Regional Business Forum held in Abidjan from 30th of March until the 1st of April 2026, aims to stimulate investments on two strategic corridors connecting Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria, in alignment with their priorities on these corridors and the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy. Discussions will focus on strategic sub-sectors:

  • Road transport (maintenance, greening)
  • Rail transport (financing, performance)
  • Ports and freight (modernisation, digitalisation)
  • Digitalisation, sustainable and smart urban mobility (new technologies, security)
  • Corridors and regional integration (multimodal platforms, inclusivity for youth and women)
  • Infrastructure financing (FDI, European and multilateral solutions)

The forum will gather 500–800 participants from public institutions, private companies, financial actors, and development partners.

Objectives include:

  • Promote regional political and economic dialogue on transport and corridor management of the Abidjan-Lagos and Abidjan-Ouagadougou corridors linking the six countries.
  • Promote, for each of the six countries, a portfolio of priority investment projects (project pipeline), linked to the corridors to the international private sector and financial institutions.
  • Promote priority projects for each country—both at the national level and in a corridor-wide perspective covering at least two countries.

The event is aligned with the EU’s Global Gateway strategy and Team Europe initiatives, offering a platform for B2B, B2G, and G2G exchanges, project pitching, thematic panels, and investment clinics.
