The European Business Council for Africa

The event discusses local investment opportunities for local and international Businesses in Rwanda on Sep 16, 2021 05:00 PM Kigali. It is hosted by the European Business Chamber of Rwanda in collaboration with RSSB and Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda.

RSSB is the public institution mandated to administer social security (pension scheme, medical scheme, maternity leave scheme, community health based insurance, Ejo Heza: voluntary long-term savings scheme) in Rwanda which is as well the largest Rwandan investment fund with more than USD 1.5bn assets under management.

The institution is a major player of the Rwandan private sector funding, notably through :
- direct equity investments in companies in various sectors of activity (e.g. hospitality, manufacturing, banking and financial services, distribution, agro-processing, telecommunications, etc.)
- significant fixed term deposits to Rwandan banks which intermediate funds to Rwandan private large companies and SMEs.

Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda:
EU Delegations represent the European Union around the world. The role of the EU Delegation to Rwanda is to support the development of relations between Rwanda and the EU. In this context, the role of the EU Delegation to Rwanda is to
• Ensure the follow-up of bilateral relations in the areas of political, economic, trade and external assistance cooperation (financial and technical);
• Supervise long-term programming of aid and the management of programmes and projects within the framework of EU external aid management
