3-6 February 2026
Mauritania
We are pleased to invite you to a cross-sector delegation trip to Mauritania from 3 to 6 February 2026. The trip is organised in cooperation with the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa) and the Honorary Consul of Mauritania in Hamburg.
Mauritania is considered an emerging market in West Africa, with a gross domestic product of USD 10.7 billion (2024). With approximately 4.3 million inhabitants, the country possesses significant natural resources, particularly in the energy sector, mining, fisheries, and agriculture.
The Mauritanian government is pursuing ambitious reforms aimed at economic diversification and is seeking to stimulate sustainable growth through international partnerships. For German companies, Mauritania offers attractive cooperation opportunities, especially in light of the deepening economic relations between the two countries. Bilateral trade between Germany and Mauritania reached a volume of EUR 165.4 million in 2024 – with clear potential for further growth.
The focus of the trip will be on the following sectors:
-Renewable energies
-Mining & raw materials
-Fisheries & agriculture
-Logistics & infrastructure
-Water management
-Healthcare
All of these sectors show concrete demand for investment, technology, and expertise – and thus promising potential for German companies aiming to enter the West African market or expand their existing activities.
