Nigeria
The German-African Business Association (Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.), commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), is conducting a business development trip to Nigeria as part of the iMOVE: Training - Made in Germany program of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
Partners in the trip include: the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria), the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), the Nigerian-German Chamber of Commerce (NGCC), the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), DevCenter Innovation, the German Association of Small and Medium-Sized IT Providers (BITMi), the German Outsourcing Association, and the Association of Small and Medium-Sized IT Service Providers and Software Manufacturers for the Public Sector (DATABUND). This is a project-based funding measure within the framework of the market development program for SMEs. The target group is primarily small and medium-sized German enterprises.
... German companies are encountering growing demand in Nigeria for high-quality IT solutions – particularly in the expansion of broadband infrastructure, cybersecurity, and specialized applications for the financial and public sectors. There is significant interest in German partners. Economic reforms and the stabilization of the Naira are noticeably improving the investment climate for foreign companies. At the same time, the Nigerian tech ecosystem, one of Africa's "Big Four," offers excellent opportunities for recruiting skilled professionals and outsourcing: German companies can benefit from a young, tech-savvy population and comparatively low labor costs to efficiently implement development projects and counteract the skills shortage in Germany through collaborations with local developers.
The aim of this trip is to enable participants to initiate concrete business relationships on-site and to connect them with new partners. In advance, you will be provided with industry-specific information about Nigeria and potential business partners. During the trip, you will have the opportunity to present your offerings for the Nigerian market and to participate in pre-arranged project, government, and company visits. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular will receive support in initiating business relationships and will be given priority over large companies during the registration process.
We look forward to receiving your application, which must be submitted by the binding registration deadline of January 26, 2026. This project is part of the market development program for SMEs and is subject to the de minimis regulations.
The company's contribution to participate in the project ranges from €250 to €1,500 (net), depending on the company's size.
