On the 11th of May, the Secretary-General attended The Africa Debate in London, held by Invest Africa. There attended Leaders from across the continent to discuss the future of African trade and how the private sector can fit into the African trade environment.

The event was attended by prestigious personalities such as Hakainde Hichilema, the President of Zambia, Samaila Zubairu, President & CEO of Africa Finance Corporation, and H.E Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat also took part of the event.

The Minister of State for Development & Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Hon. Andrew Mitchell MP, also took the opportunity to underline the importance of the UK & Africa throught programs such as Growth Gateway, the UK government program that encourages investment and trade between the two markets.
