EBCAM at the event of the Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels and EBCAM's Belgian member CBL-ACP

‘’Business Opportunities in Ethiopia’’

EBCAM participated in the event that its Belgian member CBL-ACP organised together with with the Embassy of Ethiopia & FIT, Hub.Brussels, AWEX & partners as an information seminar on doing business in Ethiopia.

During the event that was took place at the Embassy's premises, Belgian companies had the opportunity to meet with the Ambassador of Ethiopian in Brussels H.E Hirut zemene Kassaand and the officials of the Embassy and discuss about business opportunities for Belgian companies in Ethiopia but also exploring the ground for more trade between the two countries boosting the Ethiopian exports to Belgium.

H.E. Hirut Zemene Kassa's call to strengthen business ties between Ethiopia and Belgium echoes the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the two nations. By urging participants to rededicate their efforts to fostering these connections, she emphasizes the importance of leveraging the 118 years of diplomatic relations for mutual benefit.

Her encouragement for participation in the upcoming "ETHIOPIA TAMIRT EXPO 2024" to be held in Addis Ababa form 9-13 May 2024, indicates a proactive approach towards promoting trade and investment opportunities. By highlighting the event and its focus on the manufacturing sector, she invites stakeholders to explore avenues for collaboration and business expansion in this key area.

Overall, her message underscores the significance of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the potential for fruitful partnerships between Ethiopia and Belgium.

Mr. Terefe Dida, representing the Embassy of Ethiopia Business Diplomacy Section, provided a detailed presentation outlining why Belgian businesses should consider Ethiopia as an attractive investment destination. Dr. Fasika Mekete, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, offered an extensive briefing on the potential investment opportunities within Ethiopia's pharmaceutical sector. Mr. Jonathan Seys, representing Ebury, a finance institute, shared his perspectives on Ethiopia's overall economic situation. Additionally, Mr. Yonas Mekuria, representing the Ministry of Industry of Ethiopia, presented the key highlights of the upcoming "ETHIOPIA TAMIRT EXPO 2024."

A representative from the EBCAM's Dutch member NABC also attended the event in Brussels having the opportunity to discuss about trade and investment relations between Ethiopia and the Netherlands.
