Brussels, Belgium

On 25-28 September, EBCAM's Secretary General attended the Africa/Europe Regional Summit organsied by the International Rotary Club, at the "Le Square" conference centre in Brussels' city centre. 

Approximately 1500 Rotarians from all the above-mentioned regiones participated in the Summit, with a strong emphasis on society and its role for development.

The Belgian Minister of Interior, in his career a professional diplomat, spoke also about diplomacy and development. The CEO of the Belgian Agency for Development Cooperation (Enabel), Jean Van Wetter, discussed at length the role of civil society in rethinking International Cooperation in the political context.

Issues covered included environment, sustainability, governance, several speakers relating to health matters included the Director of DG INTPA.
