EBCAM had a fruitful discussion with the European Commission’s DG TRADE to advance the creation of a Euro-African Free Trade Area, aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The discussion focused on how such an initiative could foster sustainable growth, value-chain development, and shared prosperity across both continents with the private sector playing a key role in driving integration and investment.
We are encouraged by the Commission’s interest to listen to the private sector’s experience in exploring pathways toward a more coherent and mutually beneficial EU-Africa trade partnership. We will continue promoting this vision in our dialogue with the EU institutions.

The European Business Council for Africa (EBCAM) brings together national business chambers and associations of private sector actors from across Europe engaged on the African continent, representing some 5000 private European enterprises.
